The Lord Of The Rings: a classic on fantasy

The Lord of the Rings is a film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, based on the fantasy novels written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The three films in the series are The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002), and The Return of the King (2003). In a direct competition with the Harry Potter saga, it became an instant classic in cinema, and Peter Jackson rose as one of the best directors. The Return of the King even won an Oscar. The extended versions (I've seen them all) were also launched and released on cinema.

Later, a trilogy about the hobbit was launched, with a similar success. And more recently, a new series, The Rings of Power, continued the legacy of The Lord of the Rings.

What is The Lord Of The Ring about? (in case there is someone that still doesn't know)

The Lord of the Rings films tell the story of Frodo Baggins, a hobbit from the Shire, who is entrusted with the task of destroying the One Ring, a powerful artifact created by the Dark Lord Sauron. The Ring has the power to control all other rings and corrupts its bearer with its evil influence. The fate of Middle-earth depends on the success of Frodo's quest, as Sauron seeks to regain the Ring and use its power to enslave all of Middle-earth.

The story is set in a fantastical world of Middle-earth, inhabited by hobbits, elves, dwarves, humans, wizards, and various other creatures. Frodo sets out on his journey with a fellowship of companions, including his loyal friend Sam, the wizard Gandalf, the warrior Aragorn, the elf Legolas, the dwarf Gimli, and the human Boromir. They encounter many dangers and obstacles on their way, including the treacherous Gollum, who was once a hobbit named Smeagol but was corrupted by the Ring.

The Fellowship is eventually split up, with Frodo and Sam continuing on their own to Mount Doom, where the Ring can be destroyed. Meanwhile, the other members of the Fellowship fight against Sauron's armies in a final battle for the fate of Middle-earth.

The protagonists

The Lord of the Rings films feature a vast and diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique personalities and motivations. Here are some of the key characters in the trilogy:
  • Frodo Baggins: The main protagonist of the series, a hobbit who inherits the One Ring and sets out on a quest to destroy it. He is played by Elijah Wood.
  • Samwise Gamgee: Frodo's loyal friend and companion, who accompanies him on his journey to destroy the Ring. He is played by Sean Astin.
  • Gandalf: A powerful wizard who aids Frodo and the Fellowship in their quest. He is played by Ian McKellen.
  • Aragorn: A warrior and heir to the throne of Gondor, who joins the Fellowship to help protect Frodo. He is played by Viggo Mortensen.
  • Legolas: An elf archer who is skilled in combat and joins the Fellowship to help protect Frodo. He is played by Orlando Bloom.
  • Gimli: A dwarf warrior who joins the Fellowship to help protect Frodo. He is played by John Rhys-Davies.
  • Boromir: A human warrior from Gondor who is initially skeptical of Frodo's mission but eventually joins the Fellowship to help protect him. He is played by Sean Bean.
  • Gollum: A corrupted hobbit who was once known as Smeagol, and is obsessed with regaining possession of the One Ring. He is played by Andy Serkis through motion capture.

Review

In my opinion, the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson, is a cinematic masterpiece that captures the essence of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel.

The Lord of the Rings films are a remarkable achievement in filmmaking, featuring breathtaking visuals, stunning special effects, and an outstanding ensemble cast. One of the greatest strengths of the films is their faithfulness to Tolkien's original story. The filmmakers managed to capture the essence of the novels, while also making some necessary changes to adapt the story for the screen. The result is a cinematic experience that is both faithful to the source material and engaging for a wider audience.

Overall, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy is a must-see for any fan of epic fantasy, and a timeless classic of modern cinema. It is a testament to the power of storytelling, the art of filmmaking, and the enduring appeal of Tolkien's beloved tale.

The universe of 'The Witcher', from the video game to the cinema

"The Witcher" is a video game series based on the book series of the same name written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Developed by CD Projekt Red, the video game series has become one of the most recognized titles in the video game industry and has won praise for its narrative, open world, and moral choices that affect the development of the story, since each one can create their story and make Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez's game totally different from others. The video game series has three initial parts, a series of books, two expansions, and adaptations to other media , which confirm the success of the project. It can also be confirmed by the hours of play, which I, Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez, have dedicated to 'The Witcher'. Specifically are these parts: The Witcher (2007) : The first game in the series introduces players to the main character, Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher. The game follows Geralt as he investigates a series o...
