The Last of Us: What television needed.

I've waited until The last of us has finished to bingewatch it, as I knew I couldn't wait to see the story. Yes, this is Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez. I've played the videogame, but the series has made me fall in love in ways I couldn't imagine.

Not only the creators have brought the videogame to the TV in a very faithful way, but it hits different when you can see the whole story is such a brilliant performance

The Last Of Us: a quick review

"The Last of Us" TV show, starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, is a thrilling adaptation of the popular video game. The show stays true to the game's plot, following Joel and Ellie as they navigate a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a deadly virus.

Pascal's portrayal of Joel is spot-on, capturing the character's gruff exterior and hardened demeanor, while also showing his softer side as he forms a bond with Ellie. Ramsey's performance as Ellie is equally impressive, bringing the character's wit, intelligence, and vulnerability to life.

The show's pacing is excellent, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats as Joel and Ellie face numerous challenges and obstacles. The action scenes are well-executed, with impressive choreography and special effects that keep the tension high.

While the show does contain some dark and heavy themes, such as loss, grief, and violence, it handles them with sensitivity and depth. The characters feel real and fully realized, making it easy for viewers to become emotionally invested in their journey.

Overall, "The Last of Us" TV show is a must-watch for fans of the game and anyone who enjoys post-apocalyptic stories. With strong performances, excellent pacing, and a gripping plot, it's a thrilling and emotional ride from start to finish.

The perks of TLOU, by Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez

Aside of it being too short? Just kidding. Although I am a great fan of both the series and the game, I find that TLOU by HBO could be better. How? Well, one of the things that I miss on the series is the presence of infected, such as runners, clickers, stalkers and bloaters. They have very few apparitions in scene, and it makes a weird issue: it is easy to forget that they are a menace, that they are what Joel and Ellie are fighting to.

I think it is a decisiion made conciously: it is a mean to not be adult rated, and to reach a wider audience, by avoiding those horror characters. But it takes away a little bit of the survival spirit of the videogame.

What else can I say? Not much: the series is a very very correct adaptation of the videogame, almost a copy in many scenes. And that is good, because it allows nongamer to approach to this product as similar as it is possible.

Ok, but. Will will have a second season of The Last Of Us?

Yes, it has been confirmed. It will adapt (it couldn't be other way) The Last Of Us 2, the second part of the videogame. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay will reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie. The release date is still unknown, but we expect the series by the end of 2024.

The Lord Of The Rings: a classic on fantasy

The Lord of the Rings is a film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, based on the fantasy novels written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The three films in the series are The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002), and The Return of the King (2003). In a direct competition with the Harry Potter saga, it became an instant classic in cinema, and Peter Jackson rose as one of the best directors. The Return of the King even won an Oscar. The extended versions (I've seen them all) were also launched and released on cinema.  Later, a trilogy about the hobbit was launched, with a similar success. And more recently, a new series, The Rings of Power, continued the legacy of The Lord of the Rings.  What is The Lord Of The Ring about? (in case there is someone that still doesn't know) The Lord of the Rings films tell the story of Frodo Baggins, a hobbit from the Shire, who is entrusted with the task of destroying the One Ring, a powerful artifact created by the Dark Lord Sauron. The Ring h...
